Ulimatedoodle (Double Doodle)
Could there be anything better than a Labradoodle or a Goldendoodle? At Denim and Diamond Doodles, we believe we’ve created a remarkable combination., The Ultimatedoodle.
The recipe consists of one part Labradoodle (or Australian Labradoodle) and one-part Goldendoodle, combined over a nine-week period to produce what we call the Ultimatedoodle/ Double Doodle, Abracadabra!! Abracadoodle.
This innovative cross was inspired by our clients, who have asked since 2001 about the differences between Labradoodles and Goldendoodles, and which might suit their needs better. Our answer has always been that we love both breeds, which is why we breed both.

To create a Double Doodle, it is necessary to have two distinct Doodle breeds as the foundation. Consequently, Double Doodles /Ultimatedoodles, are classified as multi-generational Doodles and cannot be considered first-generation. There is an exception as we bred a AKC Labrador with an AKC Golden Retriever and kept a female offspring back, her name was Double Delight. We bred her to a poodle, thus giving us an F1 Double Doodle. Abracadoodle was one of the first breeders to pioneer this method around 2004. Furthermore, since both parent Doodles possess Poodle genetics, a Ultimatedoodle/Double Doodle will comprise at least 50% Poodle in its genetic makeup. The precise percentage of each parent breed in the composition will vary based on the generations of Doodles used in the breeding process.

In 2007, Cindy, the founder of Abracadoodle, began creatively crossing our F1 Ultimatedoodles and F1B or multi-generational Goldendoodles with F1B or multi-generational Labradoodles and Australian Labradoodles. The results have been exceptional, yielding a wider variety of colors, sizes, and temperaments than we ever imagined. With her knowledge of genetics, Cindy experimented with many breeding combinations to achieve what she coined the name “The Ultimatedoodle” Ultimatedoodles combine the best traits of all our four breeds: fabulous temperaments, trainability, and the classic doodle appearance.

Doodle breeds have gained significant popularity among dog owners due to their low to non-shedding characteristics, which make them suitable for individuals with dog dander allergies. The Ultimatedoodles / Double Doodle shares these qualities and is generally considered to be allergy-friendly, exhibiting minimal shedding.

As we look ahead, we have tailored many of our Ultimatedoodles / Double Doodles for desired sizes, ranging from mini petite to standard, in an array of colors and patterns such as parti, tuxedo, phantom, sable, and merle. We also prioritize producing F1B coats or better addressing allergy and shedding concerns, resulting in more stable and manageable coats.

Like other hybrid breeds, Ultimatedoodles / Double Doodles, can exhibit a variety of coat types. Some puppies may inherit a curly Poodle coat, while others may have straighter hair, and some may display a beautiful wavy combination coat. Typically, curly-haired Ultimatedoodles / Double Doodles tend to shed the least, whereas those with straight coats may have minimal shedding. Ultimately, the coat type and shedding tendencies depend on the specific lineage and genetic makeup of each Ultimatedoodle / Double Doodle.
However, it is not just their appearance that matters; our Ultimatedoodles / Double Doodles excel in various roles, from service jobs and obedience training to being devoted family pets or affectionate couch companions. With your guidance, love, and support, the possibilities are limitless.

While some refer to them as North American Retrievers that unofficial name is a misnomer. It is important to note that retrievers fall under the “sporting” dog classification. Although our doodles have demonstrated hunting capabilities with proper training, our primary focus has been on developing dogs that excel in companionship and versatility.
